Agency Events
Throughout the year there are a number of events that foster our culture of support and camaraderie.
Training & Workshops CPA Sympsosiums - The Vermont Agency hosted several CPA Symposiums in 2011 which were held in Colchester, South Burlington, Manchester, NH and Portland, ME. Complimentary for CPA's, these symposiums offer popular topics for the CPA such as Income Taxation of Life Insurance, Distribution Tax Planning, Section 79 Plans* with Permanent Life Insurance and College Funding Strategies to name a few. The Symposiums also provide the CPA with CPE credits and most importantly cultivate relationships between our representatives and the CPA. Agency Workshops - Held quarterly throughout the year, our agency workshops are full-day sessions for our agents to learn about new products, new sales ideas, underwriting guidelines and include guest speakers. Held throughout New England, these workshops are not only educational but provide a platform for our new agents to experience the Vermont Agency culture. Our 41st Annual Yankee Traders conference took place September 26 - 27, 2011 at Jay Peak Resort in Jay, Vermont. Yankee Traders is a two day conference that pulls together our associates for guest speakers, break-out sessions, fine food, and a golf tournament. This event epitomizes the Agency's culture of support and camaraderie. It is not surprising that everybody comes away from the conference feeling focused and re-energized. For 2012, the 42nd Yankee Traders will be held again at Jay Peak Resort and our fingers are crossed that we enjoy another couple of days filled with wonderful sunny weather, beautiful Vermont fall foliage and a great weekend for families too! 
Trade Shows - The Vermont Agency participates in numerous trade shows each year. Some of which include the 50+/BabyBoomer Expo, Go Red for Women Luncheon, Vermont Women's Expo, Vermont Home & Garden Show, and the Vermont Business & Industry Expo to name a few. Family & Friends In August of 2011 the Agency held their summer Lobster Feed on Peaks' Island, off the coast of Portland, Maine. Another beautiful summer day in New England, with fantastic food, a beautiful sunset and some great fun for all the associates and their families. 
Also held in August was a family-oriented night out with the Vermont Lake Monsters. The Vermont Agency hosted a night of BBQ and baseball as fans took to the stands of Centennial Field to cheer on the Vermont Lake Monsters team. The Vermont Agency's annual Awards Banquet will take place at The Hilton-Burlington February 4, 2012. An evening of cocktails, fine food, sales awards, inspiring speeches and dancing will be enjoyed by everyone.
These are just a few of our events that take place . There are always a number of other informal gatherings; cookouts, pool parties and golf outings, which helps create the dynamic culture of this agency. *Using IRS Code Section 79, a corporation can potentially use pre-tax dollars to provide a tax advantaged benefit to participating employees.
